The future is paid for healthcare
MyDocPay helps patients who have ongoing health needs such as:
Chronic Health Conditions
Chronic Pain
Mental Health
Disability
Access their GP, Allied Health, and some out-of-hospital Specialists for FREE or if the provider is not a MyDocPay provider at a significantly reduced out-of-pocket cost. This is regardless of the Doctor or provider’s bulk billing policy.
How does it work?
MyDocPay covers all your Medicare funded services with your GP or participating other health providers. This leaves you with no out-of-pocket expenses. Under the Health Insurance Act 1973 the Medicare benefit is payable to the person who incurs the medical expense and this includes us.
Revenue for Standard Consult
THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM
When a doctor sees a patient, they have either charged a fee with Medicare providing a rebate or simply bulk billed them.
Even with recent changes to the bulk billing incentive increase this still doesn’t cover the cost of an appointment for most GPs. Patients that traditionally would be bulk billed, are normally patients with complex health needs and who need to see their GP many times a year. They are at increasing pressure to pay for their healthcare.
It is a large expense to cover the cost of this healthcare which is unaffordable for most Australians. MyDocPay uses a payment flow model and the Medicare rebate system to assist patients to access paid services. This enhances their options for care, gives them greater choice about which GP Practice they want to attend, and gives them quicker access to Allied Health, and Specialists that they may have not had access to before.

For MyDocPay to cover the full cost of the appointment the GP/Doctor/Provider needs to be a partner with MyDocPay for us to facilitate the payment. If they aren’t you would need to pay for the appointment.
